Gate Welding & Structural Repair

Weld repair for steel and iron gates – broken hinges, cracked joints, sagging frames, leaning posts, and impact damage – throughout the Houston Metro area.

When a Gate Needs More Than Parts

A lot of gate problems aren't electronic at all – they're structural. A cracked weld, a broken hinge, a frame that has fatigued, or a post knocked out of plumb by a vehicle. No operator setting or replacement part fixes a gate whose steel has failed, and a gate that's out of square will keep destroying rollers, hinges, and operators until the structure is repaired.

This is where most gate companies stop and call a subcontractor. We don't – we have our own welding and fabrication shop, so the steel gets repaired by the same crew servicing the gate. That means one visit, one point of accountability, and a gate that's fixed at the source instead of patched around.

What We Repair

Hinges & Welds

Broken or torn hinges re-welded or replaced, and cracked joints and seams welded back to strength.

Sag & Frames

Sagging gates rehung true, fatigued frames reinforced, and bent members straightened or replaced.

Posts & Impact Damage

Leaning posts reset and reinforced, and vehicle-impact damage to gates, frames, and track repaired.

Fixed at the Source

Structure First, Then the Operator

A gate that's sagging or out of square makes the operator work against it on every cycle – which is how a hinge problem becomes a burned-out motor. We repair the steel so the gate hangs and moves true first.

Then the operator only has to move a gate that's already working the way it should.

Common Structural Fixes

  • Broken hinge: re-weld or replace
  • Cracked welds: grind and re-weld
  • Sagging gate: rehang true
  • Leaning post: reset / reinforce
  • Bent track or frame: straighten

One Crew, One Visit

Because the welding and the gate service happen together, you don't coordinate a separate welder and gate tech, or wait on a subcontractor's schedule. The crew that diagnoses the gate is the crew that fixes the steel.

Steel & Iron Gates

We weld and repair steel and wrought-iron gate structures – residential driveway gates and heavier commercial slide and swing gates alike.

Repairs tie directly into swing and slide gate repair when the operator needs work too.

Why Call Preferred Doors

Our Own Welding Shop

We do the fabrication in-house instead of subcontracting it, so structural repairs happen on the same visit as the gate service.

Gate and Operator Together

As an authorized LiftMaster dealer, we fix the steel and the operator as one job – not a welder for one half and a gate tech for the other.

Fixed to Last

We repair the cause – the failed weld, the worn hinge, the leaning post – so the gate hangs true and stops wearing out its own hardware.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you weld gates on site or do they have to come to a shop?

Most gate welding and structural repair is done on site – broken hinges, cracked welds, sag correction, and post resets are all handled at the gate. If a repair is better done in the shop, we'll let you know up front and arrange it.

A car hit my gate. Can it be repaired or do I need a new one?

It depends on the damage. Bent frames, broken welds, and damaged posts can often be straightened and re-welded for far less than a replacement. If the gate is beyond practical repair, we'll tell you honestly and can look at a new gate instead.

My gate sags every time after it's adjusted. Why?

Because adjusting the operator or hinges doesn't fix a worn hinge, a fatigued frame, or a leaning post – the real cause is structural. Welding and reinforcing the gate and resetting the post is what makes the fix hold instead of sagging back.

What types of gate do you weld?

We repair steel and wrought-iron gate structures – residential driveway gates and heavier commercial slide and swing gates. From a single broken hinge to a frame straightened after impact, the structural work is done in-house.

Can you repair the operator at the same time?

Yes – that's the advantage of doing both. As an authorized LiftMaster dealer with our own welding shop, we can repair the gate structure and service the operator on the same visit, so you're not coordinating two trades.
